Central Mason Fire & EMS was dispatched on February 25, 2012 around 2pm to a skydiver who reportedly landed in a tree between Brockdale Rd and Johns Prairie Rd. Upon arrival the skydiver was un-injured but was suspended about 30 feet up into the trees. Emergency crews from Mason County including; Central Mason Fire & EMS, Mason County Fire District 6, Mason County Fire District 11, Mason County Medic One, Mason County Sheriff's, City of Shelton Police, Search and Rescue, Arnold of Arnold’s Tree Service and others joined forces to help bring the victim down safely. Officer Trevor Severance climbed up the tree to help secure the victim. Central Mason positioned their fire engine with a top mount ladder and was able to bring the victim safely to the ground. This was a successful rescue due to the tremendous teamwork from Mason County Emergency Responders.
